Danny Andrew could make his first appearance in a Rovers shirt since August with a place in the Development side at Mansfield Town on Tuesday.
The left-back has not featured since suffering a knee injury at AFC Wimbledon at the beginning of the season, and after stepping up his recovering on the training pitch is now set to line up in John Schofield’s Development team.
Rovers boss Darren Ferguson said: “He has trained well and is looking good, we hope to get 45 minutes into him at Mansfield and take it from there.
“Whether we get him a game in the first-team will depend on how he comes through Development games. We’ll look to get him 45 minutes then an hour - if he gets through them fine then we’ll have no problem, but we’ll only have a few games left.
“If we can get him some game time it’ll then give him confidence for next season, which is very much in my thoughts.”
