Blair pleased with performance

25 April 2018

Matty Blair was pleased with Rovers' performance against Blackburn at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Darren Ferguson's side were beaten by Charlie Mulgrew's winner 10 minutes from time, but Blair believes they can take plenty of heart from their display.

He said: "It was a good game for the neutral and I think both teams had some chances, we knew how much quality they had and we had to defend for large parts of the game but we dug in.

"Blackburn started quickly and they have some good players, they dominated the ball in the first-half but we were always in the game apart from a set-piece which was the difference.

"It's a game that we've put everything into and we feel we should have got something from it, we gave it a good go and I think they would admit that they know they've been in a game."

Rovers have three games remaining in Sky Bet League One, and Blair sees no reason why they can't push on for a top-half finish this season.

He added: "It's vital that we look to win the last three games of the season, we want to finish with some momentum and the manager will set us up in a way to get the three points.

"Nothing has changed for us and we will always look forward and up the table, there is no point in worrying about what is below us as that is when points can start to be dropped.

"It would mean a lot to everyone if we could reach the top half of the table by the end of the season, it would bring confidence to the side and make the fans fairly pleased as well."

Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday May 1, you can purchase tickets from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk
