Marko Marosi says patience has been the key as he enjoys a run out in the Rovers starting line-up.
Marosi has kept four clean sheets from his last six starts for Rovers, and he says he was always focused on doing his job when his chance came around.
“Being out of the side waiting to come in is only as difficult as you make it for yourself, you just have to be patient, keep working hard and keep improving and just wait for your opportunity, and when it comes, show that you’re ready,” he said.
“It’s been very important for me that I’ve kept a few clean sheets since I’ve come into the side, and it also shows that we are defending as a team, we are very organised and there’s a lot of hard work that goes on at the training ground as well.
“My dad always told me to be patient and that things would come so I just listened to him and took the advice on board and it works, I’ve just been patiently waiting for my opportunity and it has come around now and I’m still in the side which I’m pleased about.”
Marosi returned to the Rovers starting eleven for the 3-0 victory over Fleetwood Town back in February, replacing Ian Lawlor between the sticks, but the Slovakian says that the competition for places is friendly.
“Me and Ian have a great relationship, we’re good friends and we push each other as much as we can in training, we work each other hard and help each other out, and our relationship is very good,” Marosi added.
“I’ve never wanted someone to do something bad so I get a run in the side instead, it’s my team and I want the team to do well, and Lawsy is the same with me, we have a great relationship and we support each other.
“We learn off each other, every day in training we talk, we talk about football and what we can do differently, we’re definitely improving each other, but the competition is great and we both thrive off it.”
