As part of their Anniversary celebrations, iconic pop group Steps embark on a huge summer outdoor ‘Summer of Steps’ tour which will see them perform at various special venues all over the UK.
They visit the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday June 17 in what promises to be an evening to remember, this is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the UK’s most exciting current names in pop music doing what they do best.
Steps said: “We can’t wait to play outdoors across the UK this summer. We had the best time partying with you all on last year’s tour and we promise to make these dates just as much fun, if not more! The appetite for Steps has never been stronger and we are beyond excited to be joined on stage by our friends Blue and Saara Aalto. Bring your family and bring your friends – see you there!”
Steps first broke on to the pop scene in 1997 and their debut single ‘5,6,7,8’ achieved record- breaking success! They went on to achieve an unbroken run of fourteen Top 5 singles (including three No.1’s), two four-times Platinum albums and one five- times Platinum album. They notched up an impressive 20 million in record sales and seven sold-out arena tours.
In 2017, to mark their 20th anniversary, Steps released their highly anticipated album Tears on the Dancefloor, which achieved Silver status in just three weeks, and announced their Party on the Dancefloor tour.
The album, which featured a host of new material including the smash single Scared of the Dark was a huge success and narrowly missed out on the top spot, finishing the week at No.2 on the Official Albums Chart behind Ed Sheeran. The tour was also a phenomenal success, selling more than 200,000 tickets and cementing them as of the UK’s top live acts.
Steps are joined at the Keepmoat Stadium by Blue and Saara Aalto.
Blue are a British boyband that dominated global charts from the early 2000s and have amassed five studio albums - including three UK Number One Platinum-selling records - two Brit Awards and more than 40 million record sales worldwide, including 16 million album sales.
Finnish pop star Saara Aalto, known for reaching the final two on X Factor 2016 and being current bookie’s favourite to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, completes the line-up for SUMMER OF STEPS TOUR.
