Assistant manager Gavin Strachan says younger players in the Rovers squad are pushing for a first-team spot.

Rovers who have five games left of the Sky Bet League One season, and Strachan says the youngers players in the squad could feature in the first-team towards the end of the season on merit.

He said: “There are definitely some younger players in the squad who are pushing for a first-team place, on merit rather than actually just putting a young player in there for the sake of it.

“Myself and the manager have monthly meetings about how were are going to progress, and it is a culture of how we get better all the time, whether it is looking at players or new training practices.

“Hopefully all of our preparations rubs off on the players, and whatever happens from now until the end of the season, next season we are trying to up our game once again.”
