Danny Amos has thanked the senior professionals in the Rovers squad for their advice as he continues to impress at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The full-back came on as a second-half substitute for Danny Andrew in the League One opening day game against Southend United, says the formation that Grant McCann has implemented suits his style of play.

“Danny is someone who has given me a lot of advice, I sit next to him in the changing rooms so I am always learning, there are other such as Andy Butler, James Coppinger and Luke McCullough who are always giving me tips,” he said.

“This new formation is good for the full-back especially as myself and Danny are more attack-minded full-backs.

“I am hoping to get a few starts this season, we have been drawn against Newcastle U23 in the Checkatrade Trophy so that will be a good test for me.”

Rovers are back at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday August 21 to take on John Askey's Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One, get your tickets now from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
