Mallik Wilks is looking to learn from John Marquis as he continues to enjoy life at Doncaster Rovers.
The 19-year-old has started his loan spell at the club with a real bang, hitting three goals in is first four competitive matches and becoming a firm fan favourite.
And he reckons he can get even better by learning from some of the talented attacking players already at the club - not least the club’s No.9.
“There is a wide variety of different players within the forward line, we’ve got pace and creativity as well as having John’s finishing ability,” he said.
“John’s is a great goal-scorer and he’s ruthless in front of goal, I’m learning from him and understanding how important it is to take your chances when they come along in games.”
Wallik also revealed that manager Grant McCann has followed his progress for a while, having impressed him while on loan at Accrington Stanley at the start of the 2017/18 seaosn.
“The gaffer came to watch me last season while I was at Accrington and he was at Peterborough, so I knew he had been after me for a while, he is a good manager and I know he will get the best out of me,” he added.
“I see Doncaster getting promotion to the Championship and I want to play a part in that, I won the league with Accrington last season and I want to keep progressing.”
