Grant McCann wants Rovers to be more ruthless despite them scoring eight goals in their opening three games of the 2018/19 campaign.

McCann’s side maintained their 100 per cent record this season with Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win at Scunthorpe, and he is keen to keep working on taking their chances.

He said: “We’ve played well from start to finish for two games in a row now, without scoring many goals in the first-half we’ve totally dominated.

“The full-backs for Scunthorpe are very adventurous but they didn’t want to get forward because of the threats we had.

“The players realise that there is more to come, we want to get to the best we can and that takes belief when we’re on the pitch.”
