Mallik Wilks has scored in every match he has played for Rovers - but is still planning on extra finishing training as he seeks to be ever more ruthless.

Wilks struck in the wins over Southend, Wycombe and Scunthorpe which have given Rovers a fantastic start to the 2018/19 campaign.

"I agree with the gaffer when he says we should be more ruthless, I should have had two or three against Scunthorpe - so it's more finishing training on the training ground for me and the other strikers.

"There's nothing better than starting games and winning, but you've got to perform because there is a lot of pressure to stay in the side. There's always another player there ready to take your shirt."

Wilks has quickly become a fans favourite at Rovers, and is relishing the connection he has built up with the club.

"I just love scoring goals and playing football, it's as simple as that, that's what I want to keep doing," he added.

"The gaffer loves his forwards to stay up the pitch and be free, to have that freedom, and I think that really suits how I play."

Rovers are back at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday August 21 to take on John Askey's Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One before hosting Portsmouth the following Saturday, get your tickets now from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
