Rovers have completed the loan signing of Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane until January 2019.
The 19-year-old becomes Grant McCann’s fourth signing as manager, following deals for Ali Crawford, Mallik Wilks and Paul Taylor.
Kane is an England youth international, who was a regular in the Reds' U19 and U23 squads during the 2017/18 campaign.
He said: “I’m happy to be here, I’ve met a few of the lads and they seem like a good group so I’m looking forward to the start of the season.
“It was an important decision for me as it’s my first loan spell, I know I’ll have to work hard to earn my place in the team.
“I’m a hard working player, I like to score and assist as much as possible. There is plenty of competition for places which I’m excited by.”
Rovers kick-off their Sky Bet League One campaign at Southend United on Saturday August 4, before their first home outing against Wycombe Wanderers the following Saturday.
