Rovers supporters voted Mallik Wilks as their Man of the Match in the side’s 3-2 victory over Southend United on the opening day of the 2018/19 Sky Bet League One season.
The on-loan Leeds United forward was up against shot-stopper Marko Marosi who kept the Shrimpers at bay in the first-half of the game on Saturday.
Goal scorers John Marquis and Tommy Rowe made up the quartet of nominees which was supporters could vote for on Rovers’ official twitter page.
Wilks won the voting with 51 per cent after firing his first goal for the club on his debut, with Marosi coming in second with 37 per cent, the player with the most combined wins over the course of the campaign will be named Supporters' Player of the Year at the end of season awards ceremony.
Rovers are looking to build on this victory when Wycombe Wanderers visit in the first home game of the season on Saturday August 11.
