Matty Blair says the Rovers squad are keeping themselves fresh ahead of a busy fixture schedule in Sky Bet League One.

Rovers are seventh in the table ahead of a trip to Bristol Rovers on Saturday, and Blair believes recovery between games is key at this time of year.

He said: “Football now has become a lot more detailed and we do a lot of work off the pitch to improve us on it.

“Managers are wary of keeping everyone fresh and the other coaching staff have a big role in looking after us.

“We’ll be prepared as always and travel the day before the game, we’ll eat well and rest up as much as possible.”

After a 1-0 win at the Memorial Ground last year, Blair says the squad are confident of getting three points on the road.

He added: “I’ve seen the game from last year and the conditions were tough but we’ve got to deal with that and perform well.

“The period we’re coming into now is the start of the Christmas rush, this is where the teams who want it the most will rise to the top.

“If we get a Christmas period where we win a few games then we can set ourselves up for a good second-half of the season.”

Rovers Half Season Memberships are available now – online at, at the Club Doncaster Box Office in person or via telephone 01302 762576.
