James Coppinger feels he is contributing more than ever as he prepares for his 600th game in a Rovers shirt.
The No.26 has the joint-most assists in Sky Bet League One this season, and has helped guide Rovers into the play-off places ahead of a busy Christmas period.
He said: “I’m feeling as fit as I have done for the past few years, I’m offering as much as I have done throughout my time at the club.
“People always ask the question about getting to the next milestone but for me now I’m concentrating on the here and now and focusing on doing well for the team.
“The best thing about getting to 600 is the fact that I’m in a good place and still playing every week, I feel like I’m getting to it and contributing as much as ever.”
As the most senior player in a relatively young Rovers dressing room, he takes pride in helping his teammates develop their own game.
He added: “For me now I want to be able to influence other people and that is the motivation as well as doing things personally.
“I’ve always tried to set an example and it gives them an incentive to push themselves to follow the way I go about things.
“We’ve got a lot of young players in our team and if they see me applying myself in the right way then it gives them no excuses.”
