Grant McCann is backing his players to handle a hostile atmosphere at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Rovers travel to the Memorial Ground unbeaten in five games in all competitions, and the manager is anticipating a tough test.

He said: “You’ve got to embrace the atmosphere it, it’s an old fashioned stadium and probably one of the main reasons for their success over the years.

“Darrell Clarke is highly thought of there and he’s done a good job, their pitch looks better which means it should be a good game.

“The table is taking shape now but they’ve had a lot of chances in games without scoring goals at the end of it.”

Rovers are just two points off the play-off places heading into a busy Christmas period, and McCann believes they aren’t far off where they need to be.

He added: “After 12 games we had 21 points which isn’t bad but we expected more, if we can win three out of our next four games then we’ll be on target.

“We break things up into 12 game sections, but our concentration is always on the next game and that is Bristol Rovers away.

“It’s another game where we feel we can go and win, we’re confident we can express ourselves and look to get the job done.”

Rovers Half Season Memberships are available now – online at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk, at the Club Doncaster Box Office in person or via telephone 01302 762576.
