Boyle feels partnership growing

4 February 2018

Defender Andy Boyle feels there are signs of a strong partnership between him and Tom Anderson - after the centre-backs helped Rovers to a point at Portsmouth just four days after meeting each other.

The pair, signed on loan after injuries to Andy Butler, Mathieu Baudry and Joe Wright, were thrown straight into the starting line-up at Fratton Park.

Boyle said: “I’ve trained with the lads since Tuesday, it’s a great bunch and I’m looking forward to playing more games now. Me and Tom formed a decent partnership, and the more games we play together the more comfortable we will be.

“This was a difficult place to come and we’re happy to have got a point out of the game, it’s a decent result and we were frustrated not to win it at the end, but I felt that we dealt with them comfortably at times.

“I like to defend, but I also like to think that I can play out from the back and I’m quite calm and composed on the ball too, and I’m looking forward to showing everyone what I can do in the coming weeks.”

Tickets for Rovers’ next home game with Charlton Athletic are still available via the Club Doncaster Box Office. Buy your ticket by visiting in-store, calling on 01302 762576, or online at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
