Fans biking to Rotherham

Ten Doncaster people will be cycling to the AESSEAL New York Stadium this Saturday as Rovers head to Rotherham United.

The group will cycle almost 30 miles across the Trans Pennine trail to make it in time for the Sky Bet League One fixture.

Thanks to funding from DMBC, each participant has also been able to borrow bike and equipment from Club Doncaster Foundation’s bike library free of charge.

Foundation Health and wellbeing co-ordinator Scott Copeland said: “I am looking forward to the ride and getting out there with the group.

“The planning of the event has been challenging with lots of pieces to the puzzle but I now feel we have an amazing day planned for all involved.

"A few participants have been borrowing bikes from our cycle hire scheme these last few weeks to get some training miles in, which is great and it’s really encouraging to see them getting more involved with cycling.”

This event is being put on for the health and wellbeing team, who are looking to deliver more of the same as summer approaches.

As a thank you for their involvement on the day, the health and wellbeing team at Club Doncaster Foundation have also organised a hospitality box for the Bradford City game at the Keepmoat Stadium.
