Liam Mandeville is hoping to claim a second promotion from Sky Bet League Two in as many seasons after joining Colchester United on loan until the end of the season.
The young forward will spend the rest of the campaign in Essex after a stop-start season with Rovers, and is looking to get back among the goals.
He said: “I know what it's like to be in a team that's been promoted out of this division, so I am keen to add to the squad here and I am hoping I can gel with the rest of the group quite quickly.
“As of late, I’ve been playing quite well, so I hope to bring that good form to Colchester.”
Mandeville has hit four goals this season, and is hoping a run of first-team games will see that tally increase.
He added: “Going out on loan was something I was happy to do as I wanted to get out as I wasn’t playing as much as I needed, so hopefully dropping down a level and getting a few more games at a good club will really help me.”
