Beestin: Kiwomya is looking sharp

16 January 2018

Alfie Beestin has welcomed the return of Alex Kiwomya to full training - even though it brings more competition for places in his position.

Kiwomya has yet to make an appearance for Rovers after being hospitalised with autoimmune disorder Guillain-Barre syndrome shorty after the start of pre-season training.

The former Chelsea man is pencilled in to feature in next week’s Development game against Port Vale, and has been stepping up his training in recent weeks.

Beestin, who has been enjoying a run in the first-team and scored his first EFL goal on Saturday, said: “He is looking really sharp, he trained with us last week.

“He is a really fast player, and is another one who could come and take my place so I have to keep working hard.”
