Defender Andy Butler says that he has loved every minute that he has spent with Rovers and is looking forward to more time on the pitch after signing a new deal with the club.
Butler is into his fourth season at the Keepmoat Stadium since joining from Sheffield United, and he has his sights firmly set on some personal targets in the future.
“It means a lot to me being the club captain of my local team, I never thought I would ever get the opportunity to play for my hometown club, and I have loved every minute of it,” he said.
“We have got a young squad and we do have a lot of senior professionals as well, so the mixture is right and it only looks good for the future, some of the younger lads are finding their feet as well.
“I want to get back as soon as possible as I am only seven appearances away from my 500th league appearance, I’m on 47 goals as well so it would be nice to get up to 50.”
Rovers are back in action at the Keepmoat Stadium against Charlton Athletic on Saturday February 10. Purchase tickets from the Club Doncaster Box Office on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
