Ferguson: McCullough can play big part

25 January 2018

Darren Ferguson says that defender Luke McCullough could play a big part in Rovers’ season after returning from injury.

The Northern Irishman completed 60 minutes in a Development game against Port Vale on Tuesday afternoon, and Ferguson says that McCullough is certainly in his thinking.

"If we decided to play three at the back in the future Luke McCullough would be an option, as he has played there before for us, we will just have to see what happens,” he said.

“We also have young Danny Amos who could come in and play a part as well, he was done very good lately, and we have Craig Alcock whose temperament was outstanding again, as he is someone who hasn’t played much football.

“We have arranged a friendly at the training ground on Saturday where McCullough will pay 90 minutes and Alex Kiwomya will play 60 minutes, as he came through against Port Vale okay.”
