Foodbank collection at Pirates game

Rovers fans have donated almost 300kg since the launch of a supporter-led initiative to hold collections on matchdays.

A foodbank collection point is staged outside the club shop at every home game, as part of the DRFCFans4Foodbank initiative, with volunteers there to accept donations.

With 51.6kg handed over before the visit of Plymouth Argyle, making a total of 291.65kg donated since the first collection just before Christmas.

The foodbank collection will be in place again for the visit of Bristol Rovers on Saturday January 27 from around 2pm.

Fans can also leave donations at the Club Doncaster Box Office or club shop on non-matchdays.

Suggested items are:

Cereal
Soup
Pasta
Rice
Pasta sauce
Beans
Tinned meat
Tinned vegetables
Tea/coffee
Tinned fruit
Biscuits
Non-food items are also welcome, such as:

Toiletries – deodorant, toilet paper, shower gel, shaving gel, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, tooth paste, hand wipes
Household items – laundry liquid detergent, laundry powder, washing up liquid
Feminine products – sanitary towels and tampons
Baby supplies – nappies, baby wipes and baby food. (Please note, due to advice from UNICEF they cannot accept formula milk.)
