Liam Mandeville was pleased to get on the scoresheet after netting a double for Rovers’ Development side in their 4-4 draw with Morecambe at Cantley Park.
Mandeville was one of the more senior players in John Schofield’s starting XI, and says he relishes the opportunity to use his experience to benefit the team.
“It’s always nice to score, I enjoy playing in these games at is allows me to express myself. The key for me is to get a run of games and impress the coaching staff,” he said.
“They had an experienced team out there so they made it tough for us, we had a young side but I thought we managed the task well but it was disappointing not to get the win.
“I’ve spoken before about taking responsibility when we haven’t got much experience on the pitch and that was something I tried to do again, I tried to lead by examples with the goals.”
