Rovers have launched an away family zone for the 2018/19 Sky Bet League One season, building on their reputation as a welcoming and inclusive club.
As one of only 10 clubs to reach the gold standard in the EFL Family Excellence Awards in 2017/18, the club are looking to roll out a taste of their industry-leading efforts to travelling supporters.
The family area in the North Stand at the Keepmoat Stadium, offers families a warm welcome upon arrival. Kids can participate in fun, skills based ball activities with Club Doncaster Foundation coaches, which include football drills and a penalty practice.
A face painter will help them show off their allegiance or chill out with console gaming. Young fans can also leave a lasting impression by painting a brick on the concourse wall and all team colours are welcome.
When it is time for kick-off, visitors can take their seats within the block specifically reserved for families in the away stand.
Club Doncaster marketing manager Mark Hughesman said: “We are delighted to announce our brand new family area at the Keepmoat Stadium. It is a unique concept across the league to give visiting families their own entertainment and activity options, within the away fan concourse as well as specific seating areas.
“It’s a natural progression for the club with our focus on a safe, fun, sporting environment for all whatever away team visits the stadium. Doncaster Rovers have been one of only ten clubs achieving the EFL Gold standard for Family Excellence, and we are excited to extend our warm welcome to our visiting families.”
Donny Dog cannot wait to make friends with the visiting mascots and to say hello to our away fans, and he always loves a selfie with his new mates.
This new initiative unique to the Sky Bet League One will continue the commitment to making a matchday memorable for all.
