Midfielder Ali Crawford says the team have made it easy for him to settle in to his new surroundings since joining from Scottish Premiership side Hamilton early in July.

The 26-year-old became Grant McCann’s first summer signing since taking over at the club, and Crawford says he can learn off some of the players within the squad.

“It is finally good to get a game under my belt as I haven’t played in a long time, so it is good to get back out on the pitch and get to know the boys,” he said.

“The lads have made me feel welcome, it always makes its easier, the standard is very good here and that will take a bit of time to get used to but I am looking forward to the season starting.

“There are some really good technical players in the team, I can bounce off them and they can help me improve as a footballer.”

Rovers kick-off their Sky Bet League One campaign at Southend United on Saturday August 4, before their first home outing against Wycombe Wanderers the following Saturday.
