Grant McCann says James Coppinger’s goal against Deeping Rangers was one of the best he has seen.
The midfielder’s 45-yard volley was the standout moment from Rovers’ 8-1 win, and the manager believes it was a sign of Coppinger’s class.
He said: “I know it’s a friendly game and against a non-league opposition but it’s one of the best goals I’ve seen during my time in football.
“I turned to Cliff Byrne and didn’t know what to say, he caught it so sweetly and just walked away as if he knew it was in as soon as he hit it.
“He’s scored some amazing goals for the club and I’m sure if it was a league game then people would be talking about it for years to come.”
