Forward Mallik Wilks says he is relishing the prospect of challenging himself at Sky Bet League One level.
The young forward signed an initial six-month loan deal from Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United, following spells with Grimsby Town and League Two champions Accrington Stanley last season, Wilks believes he is ready to test himself at a higher level.
“It feels good to join the club, I’m excited to be here and I’m ready for the challenge that League One brings this season, the gaffer has shown that he wants me here and I think he can get the best out of me,” he said.
“I’m ready for the step up now and I am looking forward to playing in a team at a higher level than where I’ve been before, the aim here is promotion, I see us doing just that and I want to be a part of it.
“Everything is fairly close to me obviously coming from Leeds, the training facilities are good too and everything is together here, I’m happy to fit into whatever system the manager plays, I just want to play football and hopefully we can be successful.”
