Academy manager Kieran Scarff say young midfielder Jacob Fletcher is someone that can push on and secure a first-team place in the future.
Fletcher made his league debut as a late substitute in Rovers’ 4-1 home victory over Southend United in Sky Bet League One, and Scarff says he has impressed the coaching staff at Cantley Park.
“Jacob possesses a steely determination to succeed that really belies his quiet nature, as a central midfielder, Jacob has a superb left-foot with an excellent range of passing, and he is also very comfortable in possession of the ball,” he said.
“He has displayed great ability in the under 18s games this season, chipping in with a few goals too, he has been proving himself in the under 23s games as well as his appearances in the Checkatrade Trophy games.
“All coaches at the club are looking forward to seeing him develop even further and hopefully he can start to push himself closer to the first-team on a consistent basis.”
