More than £45,000 was raised for Doncaster charity Eve Merton Dreams Trust when a host of former Rovers players returned for Sunday’s Legends match at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Brian Stock, James Hayter, and Ricky Ravenhill were among the former Rovers stars who lined up against a side made up of former Leeds players - which included Danny Mills, Rod Wallace and Noel Whelan. Rovers came out on top, with Hayter hitting a hat-trick in an 8-4 victory.
Organiser Martin Lawrence said: “I’d like to say thank you to all who attended the game, some of the goals were sublime and I am sure it was good to see some familiar faces back at the Keepmoat Stadium. It was a great performance and a win to remember.
“We raised more than £45,000 which is a fantastic sum. Thank you to Club Doncaster, all the players and everyone who took part - we hope to see you again next year.”
