The Keepmoat Stadium surface was rated as above average by the Playing Surfaces Committee during the 2017/18 campaign.

Marks are awarded at the end of each EFL game by the referee and managers of opposition teams.

On a five-point scale, Rovers were marked at 3.82, higher than the Sky Bet League One average of 3.61.

Head groundsman Pete Needham said: "The team have worked hard throughout the campain, and we are looking forward to building on this in the upcoming season."

The results cap a period of recognition for the Keepmoat Stadium groundstaff, with assistant head groundsman Jonathan Banner nominated for Apprentice of the Year at Barnsley College.
