Beestin relishing return against Bradford

19 March 2018

Alfie Beestin wants to help the team finish as high as possible in Sky Bet League One as he makes his return from injury against Bradford City.

The attacking midfielder suffered an ankle problem against Rotherham United and was initially ruled out for most of the rest of the season - but he is in line to return against the Bantams after only sitting out the goalless draw at Southend United.

He said: “I thought it was going to be at least a month, so to come back inside three weeks is unbelievable for me.

“I was always going to try and get back as quickly as I could, so am just buzzing to be playing now having only missed one game.”

It has been a breakthrough season for the player, who signed from Tadcaster Albion at the start of the 2016/17 season.

He added: “I just want to continue that form, get a few more goals and help the team get as high up the league as we can.

“My aim always for this season was always to get into the first-team. I’m a hard-working person and feel like I’ve earned my place in the team.”

The visit of Bradford City on Monday March 19 is now the only home game for Rovers in March. Tickets are available via the Club Doncaster Box Office. Buy yours now either in-store, by calling on 01302 762576, or going online to tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
