Ferguson handed Beestin injury boost

6 March 2018

Manager Darren Ferguson has confirmed midfielder Alfie Beestin’s injury is not as bad as first feared.

Beestin was initially ruled out for six-to-eight weeks with ankle ligament damage, but Ferguson says the 20-year-old could be back in training as early as next week.

“Beestin is coming on magnificently well and we feel like he could be back in contention for the Bradford City game, which is huge for us,” he said.

“The first scan showed an injury but we now feel like it was an old problem, which brings the timescale right down from six-to-eight weeks, to hopefully having him out training next week.

“He is a very good player and he has had a great season, and obviously with the amount of injuries we have had that is a big bonus for us.”

Tickets for the game against Bradford City on Monday March 19 at the Keepmoat Stadium are available from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
