Louis Jones says seeing other young players develop in a Rovers shirt motivates him to keep improving after the club exercised a clause in his contract to keep him at the Keepmoat Stadium until the end of the 2018/19 season.
He highlights the impact Alfie Beestin has had in the first-team as an inspiration, and is hoping he can catch the manager's eye with more hard work on the training ground.
He said: "I've seen the development of Alfie Beestin this season and noticed how much the manager works with him so that's something I want to replicate, it motivates me that he puts his trust in the younger players.
"I get on really well with Paul Gerrard so that helps every day, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be the player I am today. I've worked with him for four years now and he's helped me to get better.
"One of the manager's main philosophies is that you need to improve every day and not waste a day, it's all about continuing to work hard and see where that takes me during the rest of my time here."
