Danny Amos has praised everyone around the club following his breakthrough into the Rovers first team.

Amos made his full league debut against Oldham Athletic in April, and he was quick to thank those that helped him to get to where he is.

“The changing room is great, I don’t think I could really ask for a better changing room to go in to, you have your senior pros like James Coppinger, Andy Butler and Matty Blair, and then your big-name players like John Marquis, Ben Whiteman and Luke McCullough,” he said.

“They’re all helping me and giving me a lot of advice and it is so helpful for me to get all of that from those players, the management is great and you know what they expect from you, so it’s all a great experience for me.

“Once we knew we were just about safe I had a feeling the gaffer might change things up and I might get a chance to play, he’s good like that, you can see that from the games in the Checkatrade Trophy where he’s given some of the younger lads a chance.”

Amos completed 90 minutes during the goalless draw with the Latics, with the full-back playing an instrumental part in helping Rovers to a clean sheet, and he says he will use his experience from the final few games of the 2017/18 campaign and take that forward into next season.

“I thought I might see it coming, but I’m just happy to make my league debut and get a full 90 minutes under my belt, and in doing so I’ve managed to help us along to another clean sheet as well,” he added.

“If you do well in them then you’re always bound to be in with a chance of being involved with the first-team, things like that are a great learning experience for everybody and that will only help us all in the future.

“Looking forward to next season, we all want promotion and that’s our main focus, we know we can improve, and we know we have to be better in overall aspects of the game.”
