Burnley's Anderson enjoyed Rovers loan

7 May 2018

Tom Anderson enjoyed his loan spell at Rovers - saying he benefitted from game time at Sky Bet League One level.

The centre-back made seven appearances, scoring twice, after joining the club on loan in January.

He said: “I’ve really enjoyed it, obviously minus the injury at Rotherham. It was great to get a game in on Tuesday night.

“The manager and lads are very good, and it is a top club to spend some time at. It is a good squad and will only go on to better things.”

Anderson spent the opening part of the campaign on loan at Port Vale in League Two, and hopes to remain in at least the third tier next season.

He added: “It’s a step up from League Two to League One, though I was in the division last year with Chesterfield.

“I feel like I’ve dealt with it well, you’ve just got to take each game as it comes and hopefully I’ve cemented my place at this level.”
