James Coppinger says he is keen to achieve even more during his time with Rovers after signing a new one-year-deal with the club.
The 37-year-old's new contract will take him into his 15th season in South Yorkshire, and he is already looking forward to getting back for pre-season.
He said: "The biggest thing for me is my relationship with the club, I've played almost 600 games here and I'm not just here for the sake of it - I want to achieve more good things.
"We got the season over and done with so it was important that we could get the deal done, I will go on holiday now and relax ahead of pre-season.
"Like the manager said in a few interviews there were a few chats towards the end of the season, he has been massive for extending my career over the past couple of seasons."
With a squad full of young players still developing in the EFL, Coppinger believes Rovers have plenty of potential ahead of next season.
He added: "We've had a couple of players leave and it's down to some of the younger lads now to take more responsibility, they showed great maturity last season in how they performed in games.
"There are a few players who have the ability to develop and that is part of why I wanted to stay, we have lads who will get better and better with the more games they play.
"It's their attitude to training which is most impressive, if players don't have the enthusiasm then it can be hard at my age but knowing they have the mindset to be successful makes my job easier."
