James Morris was delighted to sign professional terms with his boyhood club after successfully progressing through Rovers’ academy.
The 18-year-old striker was handed a professional deal by Darren Ferguson after netting seven goals for the U18s’ side this season, and he is excited for the future.
“Obviously I’m very happy with the new deal, I’ve been working towards it for the last two years now and it’s just a great achievement to have done what I have," he said.
“What makes it extra special is that I’m a supporter myself and I’ve been following Rovers since I was a boy, I’ve had season tickets for a few years too, so it is really great to play for your childhood team.
“There’s a good development side being assembled now so I want to kick-on in there and make a few squad appearances along the way too.”
