The title sponsor of the Club Doncaster Festival of Sport has been confirmed as the Get Doncaster Moving partnership.
As part of the four-day extravaganza, teams from across the UK and Europe will compete in the second annual Kids Cup, which will be the centrepiece of a Festival of Sport held at the Keepmoat Stadium this May Bank Holiday weekend (May 25-28).
Close to 100 junior teams will be participating in the Kids Cup, with grassroots sides from Doncaster and beyond having the opportunity to play against the club’s academy teams in addition to the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Leicester City and European giants, Benfica.
The four-day Festival of Sport weekend also includes the Doncaster Business for the Community Cup, the inaugural Club Doncaster Foundation Awards and a unique three-a-side tournament, hosted in partnership with Scawthorpe Scorpions.
Lead sponsor for the Festival of Sport is the Get Doncaster Moving partnership, which aims to help local communities become healthier and more vibrant by increasing the number of people taking part in physical activity and sport.
Dr Rupert Suckling, the director of public health at Doncaster Council, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Festival of Sport and the inaugural Club Doncaster Foundation awards.
“Physical activity coupled with sport can be and should be enjoyable, often bringing people together, with individuals achieving their own aspirations, this will be evident throughout the four day weekend and I’m sure everyone participating will have a wonderful time."
In addition to thanking the Get Doncaster Moving partnership for their support of the festival, Club Doncaster's management would also like to thank Steelphalt, Pyramid Carpets, Brewster Pratap, Pinders, Smith Craven Chartered Accountants and URVO for their support.
