Republic call for Lawlor

10 May 2018

Ian Lawlor has been named in Martin O’Neill’s provisional Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming international friendly games.

Lawlor finished his first full season with Rovers making 39 appearances, keeping 11 clean sheets in the process, helping the side go on to become the sixth best defence in Sky Bet League One this past campaign.
Lawlor will join up with the senior Irish squad ahead of their game with Celtic on Sunday May 20, where the Green Army will face the Scottish Premier League champions in a testimonial game for the Bhoys’ long-standing captain, Scott Brown.
O’Neill will make his final decision shortly after the game with Celtic, and should Lawlor be selected for the final Ireland squad, he will be involved in the Green Army’s trip to the Stade de France in Paris to face France on Monday May 28, before a home game with the USA on Saturday June 2 at the Aviva Stadium.
