After scooping the EFL’s Gold Award for Family Excellence, Rovers have continued to receive praise for our welcoming atmosphere at the Keepmoat Stadium.
A grandfather who brought his grandson to his first Rovers game against Wigan Athletic on the final day of the 2017/18 Sky Bet League One season, has heaped praise upon the work done by the club.
He said: “I must say that everyone was so friendly and helpful, from the lady who took my booking over the phone (and who must have made a note that it was his first game), to the turnstile staff (a turnstile could be a bit scary to a three year old).
“To the stewards and supervisors who gave us advice on keeping cool and where to go if he got bored, and finally to the staff member and Donny Dog who found us and presented Jackson with a Donny Dog cuddly toy, which he took to bed with him that night.
“I’m sure my grandson will remember his first game for a long time.”
Marketing manager Mark Hughesman says the club always looks to make our young fans, first day at the Keepmoat Stadium a memorable one.
“Donny Dog loves to go and visit his new friends with a small gift as a memento of the day, it is something that we have done over the past few years, and to see the smiles on the fans faces makes it all worth while.
“Next season, we will continue to enhance our fans matchday experience as we look to build on this seasons’ EFL Gold Award for Family Excellence.”
