Rowe praises young players

23 May 2018

Midfielder Tommy Rowe says the younger players within the Rovers squad have shown a lot of bottle to play regularly at Sky Bet League One level.

Players such as Alfie Beestin and Danny Amos have impressed manager Darren Ferguson and earned themselves their first league starts during the 2017/18 League One campaign, and Rowe says their hard work and positive attitudes have paid off.

“I think I’ve said it a lot throughout the season how impressive the young players who come into the side, they have shown so much bottle and nerve to play regularly throughout the season,” he said.

“We have seen the emergence of some very good young players such as Danny Amos and Alfie Beestin, the most important thing is they way they have handled themselves in terms of their attitude and hard work.

“The away following has been brilliant, and we have had a strong relationship with the supporters at home over the past few seasons, we are heading in the right direction and I believe next season could be a really good one for us.”
