Danny Amos is looking forward to featuring for Rovers in their Checkatrade Trophy game against Notts County on Wednesday.

Amos has missed both games in the competition so far due to injury and an international call-up respectively, and wants to make an impression on the side.

He said: “I can’t wait for the game as I’ve not played yet for the first-team this season, I want to have a good game and impress the manager.

“If I can play well then it will push me on to be in the squad for the league games we’ve got coming up.

“We’ve gone a few games without a win now so we want to use this game to get that winning mentality back within the dressing room.”

Amos and Branden Horton are competing with Danny Andrew for the left-back role in the squad, and the 18-year-old says that competition for places is a good thing.

He added: “It’s a big task as a full-back in the system that we play, my time has come to play now and I want to listen to the instructions given to me and perform well.

“I think it’s the same in every position that you have to keep improving, if you play well then you will get a run of games.

“The pressure is always there as a footballer and we’ve got good players in every position, but it’s important to take each game as it comes.”
