Andrew expecting tough Chorley test

Danny Andrew says Rovers know what to expect from non-league Chorley in the Emirates FA Cup first round replay on Tuesday night.

A win against the Magpies would see Rovers travel to either Charlton or Mansfield in the next round of the competition, and the full-back believes they will approach the game like any other.

He said: “We know how Chorley play now, they played well at their place and we know we’ll have to be on our game to go through.

“As long as we’re switched on and perform then the result will take care of itself, we know that we’re favourites and that is added pressure.

“I’ve had some good memories in the competition, I scored for Macclesfield to get us through the qualifying rounds there and we went on to get Sheffield Wednesday at home.”

With three games coming up in the space of eight days, Andrew says there is a lot of focus on recovery within the squad.

He added: “You have to be mindful of recovery when a few games come in quick succession, it’s important to do that bit extra and help your muscles to recover.

“Looking at the stats we’re running more than 9k each game, you can wake up the morning after feeling the effects of it but that is part of being a footballer.

“It’s the best job in the world and we know we’re lucky to have it, so there will be no complaints from us and we’ll look to win every game.”

Tickets for the game against Chorley are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
