James Coppinger believes Rovers’ attacking intent has seen them cause problems for a number of sides this season.

Coppinger has featured 18 times for Rovers in Sky Bet League One, and feels he has been given a licence to enjoy his football.

He said: “We’ve had some really strong performances this season, we’ve come up against good teams and been more of a match for them.

“It’s so enjoyable to play in the front three, we have a very attacking side and create so many chances during games.

“The midfielders offer the ball quickly and very early so we’re constantly a threat, we get forward a lot and get numbers in the box.”

Now into his 15th season with the club, Coppinger says he is always working with younger players to try and improve their game.

He added: “As a senior player it’s important to share my experience with a few of the younger lads and hopefully that works.

“When you get to my age it’s important to pass on as much advice as possible, you have to do what you can to improve people.

“The team has done well and based on the way we’re playing we feel we’re contenders for the top six, we need to turn performances into results on a regular basis.”

Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Blackpool on Tuesday 27 November. Tickets are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
