Half century of partners for Club Doncaster

26 November 2018

Club Doncaster has reached a fantastic milestone after signing up the 50th business to its Official Partnership programme.

The achievement was honoured at the club’s latest networking event that took place at the new Hilton Garden Inn, with more than 50 delegates in attendance to celebrate the success.

The Official Partnership programme provides local, national and international businesses with the opportunity to join the club at a level that works for their organisation.

Guest speakers at the networking event from Official Partners LNER and Utilita told delegates about how they were looking to forge close working relationships with businesses in Doncaster.

Richard McFaul, Senior Brand Partnerships Manager at LNER, the club’s Official Platinum + Partner and front of shirt sponsor, said: “Since becoming involved almost two years ago, we have worked very closely with the club to promote the virtues of train travel to supporters of Doncaster Rovers.

“There have been a whole host of creative ways that we have looked to achieve that, with the 25% discount offer on train travel through the club’s DNA card certainly being the most prevalent.

“The club supported us as we launched the LNER brand and we look forward to seeing the relationship continue to grow.”

Club Doncaster receives considerable attention from local, national and international media sources and its sides are regularly featured on Sky Sports, meaning businesses can take full advantage of carefully positioned advertising boards and other opportunities.

Gary Newbon, veteran of 50 years of sports broadcasting and ambassador for the club’s Official Platinum Partner and Energy Provider Utilita, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Utilita to help them grow their brand, because they have a genuine care for the needs of the businesses that they work with.

“The reason that this partnership with Club Doncaster works so well for a brand like Utilita is that it focuses on the customer’s business objectives, which is completely in line with our own business ethos.”

In addition to the Platinum + and Platinum partner packages, businesses can get involved as a Gold, Silver or Bronze partner, with the opportunities to promote your business increasing as you ascend through the partnership levels.

Jon Warburton, head of commercial at Club Doncaster, said: “Since the Official Partner programme launched in the summer of 2017 we have been overwhelmed by the support the business community has shown for the club.

“To have received the support of 50 businesses in such a short space of time has meant the world to us, and allowed us to help forge some really beneficial relationships amongst the partners involved.

“The true value of the commercial model we have here at the club is that our partners work together, sharing best practice, expertise and ultimately genuine opportunities to do business amongst the group.”

Club Doncaster still has a limited number of opportunities to join the club as an Official Partner at various levels.  For more information, please email commercial@clubdoncaster.co.uk or call 01302 764665 to speak to a member of the team.
