Rovers will be able to provide iFollow Rovers commentary from Sunday's FA Cup game at Chorley despite the challenges provided by the lack of an ISDN line at Victory Park.

Audio commentary will be available as normal to iFollow Rovers subscribers, although the match is not available for streaming either in the UK or overseas as it is not an EFL competition. UK-based fans unable to get to the game can watch via the BBC red button service.

Rovers media manager Luke Thornhill said: "I'd like to make fans aware in advance that although we have found a way to provide commentary, it may not be of the same quality of audio as our subscribers are used to - ultimately we are going to be reliant on the strength of a mobile phone signal.

"This is because we do not have access to an ISDN phone line, which is required at all EFL grounds but understandably are not prevalent outside the league due to the costs involved in installing them. We asked Radio Sheffield if we could take a commentary feed from them, but the facilities also mean they are unable to provide a reliable commentary feed.

"We won't be streaming live, as we only have the rights to do so at EFL competitions, but expect to make the full match available to iFollow Rovers subscribers the following day. We are not sure yet if we are able to overlay the commentary feed, but don't currently think we'll be able to."

Innovations such as the monthly Inside Rovers magazine show and more freeview videos, available both through the club's official website and YouTube channel, mean this has been a real breakthrough season for iFollow Rovers.

Luke added: "iFollow Rovers has become a really significant part of our media output this year, with a really significant increase in subscribers over the summer giving us real confidence to invest in the product and to innovate.

"We should be back to normal at Notts County on Wednesday evening, a match which supporters can watch live through our service, though for all away games we are reliant on the quality of available lines provided by the home club when it comes to our audio commentary."
