Herbie Kane has been pleased with how his first loan spell in the EFL has progressed since joining Rovers.

He has settled in seamlessly, and has earnt plaudits from Rovers fans and the local media who have watched him week in, week out.

He said: “It’s been really good, I’ve played a lot of games which is the main thing for a young player to keep gaining that experience.

“I didn’t expect to get in the side as soon as I did but I trust myself and I back myself to perform well once I got my chance.

“The plaudits are nice but I try not to look on social media, it’s good that the fans are taking to me and I want to keep impressing.”

Kane scored his first two goals for Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup draw at Chorley, and is keen to add more to his game.

He added: “When I was younger I was more of a goal scorer, I was always trying to score and assist when I was first starting out and it was good to get back amongst the goals.

“Now I’ve got my first goal that I’ve been working hard for I want to kick on, hopefully more will follow in the next few weeks.

“It’s been a tough month or so for us but the mentality in the group is really good and we’re still close to the play-off places and we need to make sure we keep putting the pressure on the teams above us.”
