Grant McCann says midfielder Herbie Kane as been "different class" since joining Rovers on loan from Premier League side Liverpool.

Kane’s double against Chorley saw him notch up his first goals in senior football, and McCann was quick to single out the midfielder for praise following a brilliant performance in midfield from the 19-year-old.

“I was really pleased for Herbie to score especially his second goal, the finish was world class, he’s been outstanding ever since he joined this football club and he pulled us out of a real hole today,” he added.

“Herbie is a different class, we had a chat with him earlier in the week about getting him into dangerous areas because at Charlton he was picking the ball up too deep, he has that quality around the box, and both his goals showed that.

“Chorley are a side that are flying high near the top of the National League North, they have a lot of confidence, the pitch was a real leveller, so we had to make sure that we gave it everything and we will be ready to go again in the replay in just over a week's time."
