Grant McCann says the Checkatrade Trophy game against Notts County is another chance for his players to make an impression.

A win in the final group stage game would be enough for Rovers to progress, and the manager is keen to go far in the competition.

He said: “Everyone has trained well, we’re looking forward to the Notts County game and we want to progress in the tournament.

“There will be changes, it’s an opportunity for people to come in and make an impression ahead of a busy period.

“We saw it in the last game in this competition and I was really pleased with them that night, overall they’ve been good at making an impact.”

Having beaten Grimsby Town 2-0 in their previous group game, McCann wants his side to get on the front foot early against the Magpies.

He added: “We’ve just got to treat it as another game, we want to enjoy our football and go and create chances throughout.

“Our game starts with a pressing game high up the pitch, we react off them and it works in a good way.

“It takes one person not to press for us to look vulnerable and that is the same for most teams, we’ve shown the players where we need to improve.”
