Grant McCann is backing his players to take their chances when they come up against Coventry City on Saturday.

Rovers travel to the Ricoh Arena having only lost twice in their seven away games this season, and McCann is keen for them to keep that run going.

He said: “We’ll keep doing what we’re doing, we know what we need to do better and we know we aren’t the finished article yet.

We’ve got the leading goal-scorer in the league and as long as other players keep getting in the right position then the goals will come.

“We’ve had a lot of players scoring this season and people have stepped up even when John hasn’t scored in a game.”

Just one point separates the two sides going into the game, and the manager has been impressed with the job done by his opposite number Mark Robins.

Coventry probably didn’t start the season as well as they would have liked, but they have recruited very well and have an experienced manager.

He added: “It’s going to be a tough game, we’ve picked ourselves up from the Sunderland game and we’re ready to go and show a reaction.

“It’s a credit to the manager, he’s had success there and now the team are starting to work well and pick up good results.

“It can help when we go up against a team who play similar to us, they’re brave on the ball but we have to come up with a play to try and expose them.”
