Matty Blair is in line to make his 100th league start for Rovers if selected against Coventry City this weekend.

The midfielder says the landmark is a good one to reach, especially as it could come against his hometown club.

He said: “I didn’t know about it but it’s a nice milestone to hit, I won’t think about it too much though and I’ll just look to do well in the game.

"They’re a club that I can’t really get away from as it is my hometown club and a lot of my family support them.

“Playing against them doesn’t make much of a difference, I treat it the same as I would against any other team to help us win the game.”

Blair has scored three goals so far this season, and is keen to add to that tally as the campaign progresses.

He added: “I’ve been playing in a more central role which has given me licence to run beyond the strikers and get on the end of chances.

“From my point of view I can get closer to the goal and have more chances to score, I’ve got three goals and feel I should have had more.

“From the start the manager has always wanted to play attacking football, it’s exciting to be a part of and the fans are happy with the level of performance as well.”
